Resilient wheels are mainly used in urban low floor modern tram and LRV. The main features: low noise, non-pollution to the environment, comfortable ride, and it is the develop trend of modern city transportation.
According to the main force of elastic components, the structure of resilient wheels can be divided into three types: shear type, compression type and composite type. Each structure has its own performance character. The axial stiffness of shear type structure is good. The compression type of wheels have good radial stiffness. The composite tpe have both good radial and axial stiffness, thus this type becomes the main research direction of resilient wheel.
